Parishioners are asked to note that there are significant changes in place that will affect Masses and the daily working of the church. These are detailed below.
From 19 May 2020 the church will be open for private prayer only. Attendance at Masses is still not permitted and these will continue to be broadcast via the parish website. There will be no other services such as funerals, weddings, baptisms etc.
The church will be open for private, individual, prayer from Monday to Saturday from 10am to 5pm, and from 1pm to 5pm on Sundays.
A one-way system is in place for entering, while within and when exiting the church. Please follow the signage and instructions. To observe social distancing, you must sit only in the seats marked for this. Please clean your hands before and after your visit.
The Parish Office remains closed. Our Parish Secretary, Claire, will be working remotely and will still be able to take telephone calls. She will continue to work with Fr Stephen to look after all those in need. She can be contacted by email firstname.lastname@example.org or via the parish telephone number: +44 28 9042 2167
Funeral Masses remain suspended. When possible Fr Stephen will try to say Requiem Mass on the day of the burial, with the hope of broadcasting it via our parish website. When this crisis passes, Fr Stephen will welcome together the families in St Colmcille’s Holywood for a Requiem Remembrance Service.
Fr Stephen McBrearty and/or Fr Andrew Black will celebrate Mass privately from the Altar in
the Church each day of the week. There will be no congregation and it will not be possible for you to attend Mass. Masses will be broadcast live on our website and can be accessed by following this link: https://stcolmcillesholywood.org/web-cam
Mass times will be:
Saturday vigil 6.30pm
Sunday 12 Noon
All these Masses, will be celebrated privately – no attendance allowed
Funerals need to be arranged- paying the greatest respect to the families at their time of loss
and sorrow, and will be arranged between Fr Stephen and the Parish Secretary Claire and adhering to all direct advice coming through from the Diocese and Government.
All exposition of the Blessed Sacrament will end until further notice.
Any other meetings or arranged social events, which may have been planned, have been
cancelled until further notice.
Our prayer is for the healing for our sick and we pray that the virus, that so many have fallen
victim to will come to a speedy end.
Fr Stephen encourages you all to use the social media links and he and the Parish Secretary
Claire will keep you informed to any further announcements or changes to these
May God bless us all.
